नगर पंचायत पृथ्वीगंज जनपद प्रतापगढ़ के सदर तहसील के अंतर्गत स्थित है। यह एक नव सृजित नगर पंचायत है जो सन २०२१-२२ में नगर पंचायत के स्वरुप में आया। यह जनपद मुख्यालय से लगभग १२ किलोमीटर दक्षिण- पूर्व तथा प्रदेश मुख्यालय लखनऊ से लगभग २१० किमी० दक्षिण - पूर्व में स्थित है। इसकी अवस्थिति जनपद की दो प्रसिद्द नदी सई एवं बकुलाही के संगम पर है। बकुलाही नदी जनपद में लम्बी दुरी तय करने एवं जनपद के एक बड़े क्षेत्र को सिंचित एवं भूगर्भ जल को खुशहाल करते हुए यही पृथ्वीगंज में सई नदी विलय कर जाती है जो अंततः गोमती नदी से मिलने के बाद भारत की सबसे पवित्र नदी जीवन दायनी गंगा नदी में मिल जाती है। यह टाउन क्षेत्र प्रतापगढ़ से रानीगंज के राज्य मार्ग ३१ पर स्थित है तथा यहाँ पृथ्वीगंज नाम से रेलवे स्टेशन भी है जो एक तरफ जनपद मुख्यालय प्रतापगढ़ तथा दूसरी तरफ रानीगंज तहसील को जोड़ता है।
